The Christian Institute of Philosophy

On this site you will be given a great deal of information.  You must then decide what information you believe to be true and  applies to your own life and what does not.  I leave that process to be "worked out" (Philippians 2:12) between you and the Holy Spirit of God.   " He will guide you into all truth".  John  16:13

Why This Site?

CIP has been established to accomplish the following things.

1.  To explore the deep Spiritual life hidden in Christ that can be found by anyone who seeks it.

2.  To make Christians aware of the concept of the "Old and New Man" which is critically important to Spiritual growth.

3.  To help the reader become familiar with the writings of Christian philosophers throughout the history of the Church.

4.  To examine the Christian experience at "high resolution" in all three dimensions of human life - physical, psychological,

and spiritual.

5.  To help Christians understand the concept of "Existential Normalization" which is very valuable in explaining why people believe, act, and think the way they do.

Site Structure

CIP is an ongoing endeavor.  New information is being added each week.  The writings on this site are never finished.  All articles are updated from time to time.

Editor's Note:

Please feel free to email me if the Lord inspires your heart with thoughts that can benefit other Christians.  It is very likely your thoughts will be posted.  I am particularly interested in those insights which come from your own life experiences.

"Line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little."  Isaiah 28:10

About the Author:

I am retired approaching the end of my life here on earth.  This site is something I can leave behind that may be of help to the Lord's Church.  The results I leave totally in His hands.  He has inspired its creation and given the motivation to do it.  So it is His work from start to finish.

"...for thou also hast wrought all our works in us."  Isaiah 26:12

I know that most readers wants to know a little bit about the author to get some idea where I am on the denominational spectrum.  My denominational positions are a little difficult to explain, because of my search for the deeper things of Christ my whole life.  In that pursuit, I have associated with several denominations over the past 50 years.

At 70, I would describe myself this way.

In the area of Christian education I am Lutheran.

In the area of Christian social work, I am Salvation Army.

In the area of Christian art, and beauty, I am Catholic.

In the area of a basic presentation of the theological truth for salvation, I am Southern Baptist.  (I was a lay pastor in this denomination for several years.)

In the area of the "Deeper Life of Christ", I am a part of all Christians everywhere, who long for a deeper Spiritual life with Christ.  No matter what denomination you may be affiliated with - in the heart we are on the same page when it comes to the desire for a deeper life in Christ.  "Deep calleth unto Deep".

"But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."  1 Corinthians 2:10

The Lord has fashioned my whole life toward Christian Philosophy and I am quite pleased and at peace to come to the last years of my life working on this project.

I had a thirty year career with a state environmental protection agency and then taught 2 years of high school science after retirement.  I love the outdoors and consider nature and landscapes to be the beauty and mystery of God's creation.

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."
Psalms 19:1

I am a very private person, so my name on this site is a pseudonym.  In this last period of my life, I am following the example of the disciples focusing my life on the word and prayer - and writing.

I hope this description gives you some idea of who I am and where I am coming from as you read through the site.  I pray the Holy Spirit of God will go way beyond my human efforts and use this site to give insight and grace to your heart that is specific to your own needs.

CIP does not accept donations.  It is a work of love and the Lord has already provided financially.
